Iowa Regent Admission IndexStudents planning to attend a public university in Iowa must have a Regent Admission Index (RAI) of at least 245 or higher and have completed the minimum number of required high school courses in order to be automatically admitted to Iowa State University, the University of Iowa, and the University of Northern Iowa. This formula contains strong predictors of academic success at a university.  http://www.regents.iowa.gov/RAI/

Regent Admission Index Formula
    2x ACT composite score
  + 1x high school rank
  + 20x high school grade point average
  + 5x number of high school courses completed in the core subject areas
  = RAI score
